He uses parts that conform to EU / British Standards, keeping these E-bikes road legal. Some other companies will happily fit an 800W hub motor which could get your bike confiscated and impounded.
I had done my homework before converting a cargo bike, a Workcycles Fr8 and Alex answered all my questions, suggesting the Tongsheng motor with torque sensor which works very well. We measured the space and the battery that he has chosen fits nicely in the frame. I had the occasional minor issue which Alex was quick to rectify. One of the issues was related to seat post height which we both should have checked and the other was to do with a screw mounting. I think that's the true sign of a good company - the ability to deal with issues.
So far we have done 1000km in 4 months and we are very happy. We carry both kids on the bike to and from school and then continue to work every day on our bike.
His pricing structure is transparent and fair. Yes, it seems like a lot of money, but if I had done 1000km on public transport, Uber and car journeys, I would have lost a lot of time and would have probably already paid as much! This is a great eco-friendly, fast, safe and fun alternative.
